What are Payment Gateways and which one is right for you?
There are two types of payment gateways available: Integrated and Manual.
Integrated Payment Gateways
Integrated gateways process payments automatically. These are recommended for convenience and automation. Examples include:
- Paymongo Credit Card (most recommended)
- Paymongo GCash
- Dragonpay / Dragonpay BDO
Manual Payment Gateways
Manual gateways require manual verification or processing. These can include:
- Bank deposits
- Cash on Delivery (COD)
- Check payments
Using Your Own Payment Gateways
Yes, you can use your own payment gateways — but this requires that you own the Shopify store. Please ask your Account Executive about the monthly rates for this setup under the ZAP E-Store service.
Can I Use My Own Payment Gateways and ZAP's?
No. You can only choose one type of setup: either your own or ZAP’s payment gateways.
International Payments Support
Only PayPal currently supports international transactions. If many of your customers are from outside the country, consider enabling PayPal.
Do I Need to Enable All Payment Gateways?
No. You don’t need to enable all available options, but you must choose at least one payment gateway to start accepting orders.
How Many Gateways Can I Enable?
- Shopify allows up to 3 primary automatic gateways (e.g., PayPal, Paymaya, Paymongo, Dragonpay, GrabPay, etc.)
