What is Block Off Dates feature?
The Block Off Dates feature in your Shopify Store allows you to manage order availability during peak seasons, holidays, or emergencies. This setting can be configured per location for both store pickup and delivery orders.
🔒 How to Block Off Dates for a Location
Log in to your Shopify Store and navigate to Apps > Locations.
Select the branch location you want to manage.
Ensure that Store Pickup and Delivery is enabled for that location.
In the Store Pickup and Delivery section, locate the Block Off Dates panel below the toggle switch.
Use the date picker to select the days you want to block off.
- You can only block off dates starting from tomorrow onward.
- Click Block off dates to add them.
The selected dates will appear as a checkbox list.
Don’t forget to click Save to apply your changes.

On your storefront's cart widget, blocked dates within the current week will be marked as "CLOSED" from the pickup date dropdown.


🗑️ How to Remove Blocked Off Dates
To remove specific blocked dates:
- In the Block Off Dates section, check the boxes beside the dates you want to remove.
- Click Remove.
- Click Save to update and confirm the changes.
⏳ What Happens to Past Blocked Dates?
Blocked dates that have already passed are automatically removed from the list—no need for manual cleanup.
